Building Resiliency

Mind. Body. Spirit.

Home. Work. Family. Community. Self.

Bringing my life full circle in a holistic, grounded, mindful way takes time and intention to cultivate. I am inspired to bring my home life, work life, family, community, and myself into a delicate balance that brings purpose and joy to myself and others.

My years of work with The Resilient Practitioner has brought me a foundation of skills that germinates self resilience so that I can be available to share and care with others. As I learn to take time and to listen to my body and to the greater story of life

I then build my strength to know when to move and when to sit.

My tendency as a human is to run full speed ahead, as per my norm, anyone that knows me would not expect anything different! When I rush through my days I miss the little moments. I forget to smell the flowers (literally and… I live on a farm!). I forget to hug my loved ones. I forget to make contact and make heartfelt connections.

I simply just think 100 steps into the future at all times.

Rewind to a few years ago when I started practicing with Jen and the The Resilient Practitioner. I started my 12 week year set with intentions, practiced in the group, turned up my self care and established a bigger life purpose. Over the past two and half years the intention I keep repeating is to slow down and to be here and now. Resetting my intention regularly brings consistency and sustainability to my practice.

What is resilience? To me, resilience is being mindful of each and every moment. Listening to the earth below my feet, above my head, and all around me and knowing that mother earth can be my teacher. Listening to my own inner voice, my body so that I can listen for others.

Knowing my limits, knowing when to let go and just accept.

Gratitude. And more gratitude.

To me, this is resilience.

I do believe that if more humans took a moment to practice even one of the skills of resiliency that our world would be a better place.
