The Day That I Discovered Phoenix Rising Yoga

Was the day that I learned how to truly witness my inner voice…

I didn’t always do yoga.  I wasn’t always a yoga teacher.  I have always been a seeker, a spiritual person, someone who is innately curious. I was curious about yoga and how the benefits of yoga might help me grow beyond pain.  I didn’t know that I was seeking yoga for this, but ultimately I discovered why I was so drawn to the practice as a way to heal.

I was going through lots of stress at the time.  I needed a way to feel less lonely, more connected, and less agitated by life and all that I had going on.  I needed to feel heard and understood, and to feel known.  I was drawn to the Phoenix Rising Practice by Michael Lee, because there was an intuitive feeling that there was something there for me in this thing called yoga therapy.

I found a practitioner in Stowe, who no longer practices.

I went to a session and told her I needed to grieve.  After buckets of tears, I walked away forever changed from being held in the experience of moving through shapes and being mirrored somatically.  I had been heard, seen and known by my own voice, the echo of her voice, all that took place in that session.

It was point of exploration that led me down the path of yoga…

That I am forever grateful for.
