The Sweet Spot to Self-Care

Reclaim regulation. Reconnect with your body. Rebuild resilience.

What Is the Sweet Spot?

The “sweet spot” of self-care isn’t found in a bubble bath or a productivity hack.

It’s found when your nervous system shifts out of survival mode…
And you remember how it feels to be in your body, connected, and grounded.

This guide is here to help you notice when you’ve left that sweet spot — and gently return to it.

Signs You’ve Left the Sweet Spot

Check any that feel true for you:

  • I feel emotionally tired, even when I’m “doing fine.”

  • I can’t seem to shake a low-grade tension or heaviness.

  • My sleep isn’t restoring me.

  • I feel like I’m holding it together, but just barely.

  • I’m more reactive or withdrawn than usual.

  • I keep thinking: “I should feel better than this.”

If you checked two or more, your nervous system may be calling for reconnection — not more doing, more trying, or more pushing.

Nervous System Reset Tool

A 5-minute somatic check-in practice

Try this simple reset when you feel scattered, shut down, or on edge:

  1. Inhale through your nose for 4 counts

  2. Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts

  3. Press your feet into the floor and feel the ground support you

  4. Gently rock forward and backward — let your body move

  5. Wrap your arms around your torso and hold for 20 seconds

  6. Ask your body: “What do you need right now?”
    Then pause. And listen.

You don’t have to fix it. Just notice. That is enough.

Gentle Reflection Prompts

Use these as journal prompts or quiet self-inquiry:

  • What’s one thing my body has been trying to tell me lately?

  • When did I last feel fully regulated, present, and at ease?

  • What feels hard to ask for right now — and what would it feel like to receive it?

Let these questions land. No rush to answer. Your body knows.

From day one, Jennifer made me feel safe

and comfortable sharing more vulnerable

parts of myself. She noticed special things

that other people might not, like when my

voice or my body language changed with emotion.

Working through a somatic framework has
been life-changing. It showed me how my
body reacts, holds memories, shifts and
changes. Being able to explore these
feelings has been pivotal in my healing.
